The article provides supplemental guidance on SLCP Gateway facility profiles for facilities that have multiple locations and multiple addresses on which they operate, as well as guidance on how to pick facility name in these circumstances.
This resource is a supplemental resource to the main article Guide: Getting Started with SLCP Gateway. In case you’re a new facility please consult the Guide first before reading further this resource.
Each facility requires its own unique profile on SLCP Gateway. However, dependent on your country of operation, customer requirements and how your facility's status is regulated you may need to deviate from the general rule mentioned above. To support you further when your facility situation may be different, we've created this additional guidance.

General rules for facility profiles
- Unique address: Each facility with a unique address needs its own profile on the Gateway.
- Facility name: The name of your facility on the Gateway must be the same as the name on your Business License.
- Business License: Requirements can vary by country. For example, one license may cover many addresses, or one address may have multiple licenses.
Profile registration - additional scenarios
Use the table below to find the scenario that matches your facility:
| Scenario | Recommendation |
| Unique Business License and unique address | Create one Gateway profile and complete one SLCP assessment. |
| Unique Business License and address, but separate workshops for different clients |
Choose to create either one or separate facility Gateway profiles, depending on your specific needs and customer requirements. SLCP recommendation is to use one Gateway profile to minimize audit fatigue for your facilities. Note: If separate SLCP assessments are used, the self/joint-assessment needs to include additional information on parts of the facility that are captured in each self/joint assessment. In that situation each facility has to create a Gateway profile and use an individual facility name. You can find more information about picking appropriate facility name in this article. |
| Unique Business License with multiple addresses |
If the workforce is separate (i.e. different policies/timekeeping), create an independent profile for each address. If the workforce is treated as one, you can choose to have one or separate profiles based on your reporting needs. In this case, SLCP’s recommendation is to have one facility profile and complete one SLCP assessment to minimize audit fatigue. |
| Multiple Business Licenses (i.e. for each production process) and one unique address |
Choose to create either one or separate facility Gateway profiles, depending on your specific needs and customer requirements. SLCP recommendation is to use one Gateway profile to minimize audit fatigue for your facilities. Note: If one Gateway profile is used, all facility names and the combined worker numbers for all business licenses must be included in the profile. If multiple Gateway profiles are used each unit is required to report data separately based on facility requirements or customer expectations. This is particularly recommended when the units operate or are managed independently under different business licenses. |
| Ownership changes, but everything else stays the same | Continue using your existing profile. You do not need a new Gateway profile, but you may need to update the name or Business License in case any changes took place |
Note: For changes to the facility profile information, such as address updates and relocations, please consult this support resource for more information.
Reducing audit fatigue
SLCP aims to reduce audit fatigue by promoting one verification that you can share with multiple business partners. When possible, we advise using a single Gateway profile and assessment for all your operations at one location.
