SLCP partners with the International Trade Centre (ITC) for the Gateway, training and stakeholder engagement. ITC is the joint agency of the UN and the WTO focused on supporting the internationalization of enterprises. The agency enables companies in developing and transitioning economies to become more competitive and connect to international markets through trade and investment, thus raising incomes and creating job opportunities, especially for women, young people, and poor communities.
The Gateway is developed within the Trade for Sustainable Development Programme (T4SD) of ITC, a partnership-based program that helps businesses, regardless of their position in the value chain, chart their path to more sustainable trade by better understanding the sustainability initiatives landscape and to connect with business partners. T4SD provides trainings, market-related intelligence, global public goods, and customized IT platforms to connect value chains in a way that improves the economic, environmental, and social conditions for workers and businesses globally.
ITC also developed Sustainability Map, a platform which provides concrete and scalable tools, technical assistance and advisory services for every stage of the value chain, from micro, small and medium sized enterprises in developing countries to retailers and brands in developed markets. Facilities can easily create a free profile on Sustainability Map from within their Gateway profile by ticking the appropriate box.
