This article explains how SLCP verified assessment data moves between facilities, Accredited Hosts, the SLCP Gateway, and end-users. It gives a high-level overview of the different platforms involved and the role each one plays in the SLCP data ecosystem.
Once a facility completes and verifies its SLCP assessment, the verified data can be shared with brands and other interested parties. They are considered the end-users of SLCP report. This sharing happens through a network of connected platforms — the SLCP Gateway and SLCP Accredited Hosts (AHs). This article gives a high-level overview of the different platform types and how data moves between them.
The SLCP Gateway
The SLCP Gateway is the central place for securely storing all verified SLCP assessment data. It is built and managed by the International Trade Centre (ITC) in collaboration with SLCP.
The Gateway sits at the center of the SLCP data ecosystem. All verified SLCP assessment data passes through the Gateway, and facilities control their data sharing from here. It is free for all facilities to use.
From the Gateway, verified data can be shared with brands, Passive Accredited Hosts, Brand Hosts, and other interested parties.
Active Accredited Hosts
Active Accredited Hosts are platforms used by facilities and Verifiers to complete SLCP assessments and verifications. In addition to hosting the assessment process, Active Accredited Hosts also distribute verified SLCP data to end-users and provide additional services such as scoring, benchmarking, and data analytics.
Active Accredited Hosts are connected to the SLCP Gateway. This means that once an assessment is verified on an Active Accredited Host platform, the verified data is linked to the facility's Gateway profile and can be shared from there.
Passive Accredited Hosts and Brand Hosts
Not all Accredited Hosts are used to complete assessments. Passive Accredited Hosts and Brand Hosts only receive and distribute verified SLCP data — they do not host the assessment or verification process.
Passive Accredited Hosts receive verified SLCP data from the Gateway and distribute it to end-users, often with additional services to support data analysis and interpretation.
Brand Hosts are a specific type of Accredited Host used by brands. They only receive verified SLCP data and make it available to brand end-users.
Better Work
Better Work is a program of the International Labour Organization (ILO) that operates in select countries. The Better Work platform has a specific role in the SLCP data ecosystem — it only sends data to the SLCP Gateway. Facilities in some Better Work countries can choose to share their Better Work assessment data with the SLCP Gateway for further sharing with brands and other interested parties.

The facility always owns its data and decides who to share it with. Sharing verified SLCP data via the Gateway is free for all facilities.
