Before the verification
As early as in the self-assessment stage, the facility should start contacting Verifier Bodies (VB) to arrange a verification. This is to ensure that there are Verifiers available when you require verification and to avoid any scheduling issues. Remember, verification must happen within two months of completion of the self/joint-assessment. The Verifier must receive your completed assessment with applicable uploaded documentation no later than 10 working days prior to the scheduled verification date/ window. So, in general, you have about 6-7 weeks between submitting the assessment to the Verifier Body for verification
Depending on the size of a facility, and the number of days needed for the on-site verification, the VB assigns one or more Verifiers to a verification. An on-site verification never takes more than 1 working week. If more than 4 person-days are required (due to your facility size/operations), the VB needs to assign more than 1 Verifier to your verification. The assigned Verifier(s) will schedule a visit to the facility to complete the verification. This scheduling happens offline. You can find an overview of required person-days (related to facility size) in the Verification Protocol.
During a verification, the facility is expected to provide support to Verifier(s), address any question level issues with the Verifier(s) ideally while the Verifier is on-site during the closing meeting, and review the verified data when VB/ Verifier submits the report.
After the verification
The Verifier has 10 working days after the verification to submit the verification findings on the AH platform. Then you have 14 calendar days to approve or dispute the verified assessment report. If you do not take action within the 14-day review and approval period, the Accredited Host will automatically accept the verified assessment report and change the assessment status to Verification Finalized (VRF). Once finalized, the report can no longer be changed.
