Training Bodies (TBs): how to become one and maintain an approved status?

We warmly welcome signatories that are interested in training facilities on the SLCP process and system to become Training Bodies (TBs). 

 

To approved TBs, we provide training materials that can be used to deliver two types of trainings:

 

1. Introductory sessions: Explaining the SLCP mission and vision, and the SLCP process and system on a high level with the objective to engage “newcomers” in SLCP.

 

2. Deep-dive sessions: Explaining a part of the SLCP process and/or system in detail with the objective to help facilities that are already aware of SLCP to complete their SLCP assessment.

 

For the introductory training, no previous qualifications are needed. To deliver the deep-dive training, there are criteria - see below.

 

ATB Criteria	Specifics
Organization type	SLCP signatory Verifier Bodies, manufacturers associations, brands/retailers and or strategic partners
Geographical location	Experience with social auditing training of auditor/facility/member/supplier in local language and capability to deliver the training in the chosen countries and languages
Internal management system	The course must have a course director with overall accountability for the training quality and delivery, as well as management system in place to select and monitor Trainers, and assure quality of training including:  Commitment to develop and enforce written policies and procedures on SLCP training, e.g. content, quality control Commitment to develop and enforce written policies and procedures on SLCP competence e.g. training skills, knowledge level Commitment to develop and enforce written policies and procedures on calibration Commitment to develop and enforce written policies and procedures on Conflict of Interest, e.g. when being both VB and ATB

 

Start the application process by filling in the Training Body Application. Once your application is approved, you will be asked to put forward candidate Trainers.

 

Learn more about the approval process for Trainers here. Once your first Trainer is approved, you will get access to the SLCP training materials that can be used to develop customized training sessions.

 

Additionally, TBs can opt in for the Training Body Plus Arrangement. Qualified TBs are selected to participate in the arrangement that aims to drive in-person training sessions in local languages (e.g., Bangla, Chinese, Turkish, Vietnamese) with customized training materials.

 

To maintain an approved status, we ask that TBs comply with Quality Assurance activities throughout the year (e.g., participate in calibration webinars, give SLCP access to training sessions, complete evaluation forms) and complete the mandatory end-of-year survey.
