This article will explain what the new Verifier Body (VB) Selection Model is, how a facility can select a VB and how this contributes to data quality and integrity at SLCP.

- Contributing to data quality and integrity
In March 2026, SLCP will implement a new Verifier Body (VB) Selection Model. The Model generates a list of VBs for a facility to choose from, with performance information visible. The list distinguishes between high, medium and low performing VBs based on SLCP’s scoring system and associated risk levels, and is part of the broader Integrity Oversight Program.
As part of the SLCP verification process, facilities must select a VB to conduct a verification on their self-assessment. SLCP encourages facilities to take quality into account when selecting a VB.
Key features of the Verifier Body Selection Model
Note: this model will be implemented on 31 March 2026
- Facilities select their VB through the Accredited Host platform while completing their assessment
- Facilities choose a VB from pre-generated list that uses an algorithm to filter and rank VBs based on their score
- High performing VBs will always be displayed.
- Medium and low performing VBs are less likely to be included.
- In addition to quality ranking, a VB will only appear in the list if it meets all of the eligibility criteria
- The model promotes VB rotation – VBs cannot conduct two verifications in a row for a facility, minimizing potential biases
- If a VB is not visible to the facility, it means either the eligibility criteria are not fully met or the VB’s quality score did not meet the threshold for inclusion in the pre-selected list.
What will a facility see when selecting a Verifier Body?
When selecting a VB, facilities will see a list of Verifier Bodies that includes the name, SLCP ID and VB score for each VB. Facilities must select a VB from this pre-generated list, except in rare circumstances due to VB availability.
The score will be displayed as a number from 0-5, with 5 being the highest score. For more information about scoring, read our article SLCP’s scoring system for Verifiers and VBs.
Contributing to data quality and integrity
Guided by stakeholder feedback, the introduction of the new VB selection model strengthens transparency, fairness, and continuous improvement.
The new model encourages VBs to continuously improve data quality and verification practices, while enabling facilities and brands to make more informed decisions based on quality and integrity. It also helps reduce bias by preventing facilities from selecting the same VB for two consecutive verifications – directly addressing a key concern raised by stakeholders.
Through SLCP’s collaborative and consultative approach, we continue to ensure that our systems, processes, and models remain relevant, credible and fit for purpose.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a facility select a VB for a verification that takes place after the new model has been implemented?
Yes. You can still select a VB before 31 March 2026 for a verification that takes place after 31 March 2026 - this VB selection will remain valid.
After 31 March, the facility will be shown a specific list based off the new VB Selection Model. As the model implements 'VB rotation requirements', this means that the VB who conducted the previous verification will not appear in the VB Selection List after 31 March.
What is the eligibility criteria for VBs to appear on the VB Selection List, other than scores?
- Country approval
- Languages spoken at the facility
- In-country CSCA presence
- VB rotation requirements
- Verifier rotation
