This article explains the requirements for Verifier Bodies (VBs) and Verifiers to be approved by SLCP to conduct verifications.
Requirements for Verifier Bodies (VBs)
- Must be a third-party auditing firm.
- APSCA Full Member Firm mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating in social and labor auditing.
- Effective internal management system ensuring verifier competency, ethics, and impartiality.
- Sign VB Terms of Use.
- Pay mandatory application fees.
- Responsible for verifier training, quality assurance, and maintaining integrity.
- Subject to ongoing review by Verification Oversight Organization.

Requirements for Verifiers
- Must be APSCA member (CSCA or ASCA in good standing)
- Employed by an SLCP-approved Verifier Body
- Minimum 3 years of social and labor audit experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma
- Independent lead auditor training on recognized social auditing systems
- Proven in-country experience with social audits
- Proficiency in English and local languages preferred
- Knowledge of international/local labor laws and management systems
- Pay mandatory fees
