Better Work (BW): how do I onboard suppliers that are in the BW program?

Better Work member brands nominate suppliers to be enrolled in the Better Work program. Better Work and SLCP collaborate currently in 10 countries, but that collaboration looks different depending on the country in which facilities are located.

 

In Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam and Pakistan, Better Work facilities can share the data from their Better Work assessment with the SLCP Gateway (and from there shared further to Accredited Hosts and end-users).

 

When communicating the nomination to the suppliers from these countries that participate in the Better Work program, you can:

• Explain SLCP and what we are about with this FAQ
• Inform your supplier that there is no need to complete an SLCP assessment on an Accredited Host. Instead they can share their Better Work assessment data and more information can be found in this FAQ
• Send them this document to help them connect to the Gateway and start their self/joint-assessment
• Communicate which Step they need to complete to satisfy your data needs, more information in this FAQ

Better Work facilities in Jordan, Nicaragua, Madagascar and Sri Lanka can complete an SLCP assessment and share their SLCP assessment data with Gateway since the program in these countries does not include Better Work assessments. 

Better Work facilities in Egypt and Cambodia will need to complete Better Work assessments, and in these countries the option to share assessment data through SLCP Gateway is not yet available. If the facilities in these countries do not participate or are exempt from in the Better Work program, they will be able to complete SLCP assessment.
