This support article explains what to do if you mistakenly finalize an assessment report, what's expected of you during the review period and the rules regarding changes to finalized data.
- Mistakenly finalizing a report
- Exceptional circumstances for reopening reports
- Keeping assessment data accurate over time
The trust of SLCP data depends on the consistency and permanence of the verification process. When an SLCP assessment report reaches the final stage on the Gateway, it becomes a complete and permanent record. This setup makes sure brand partners get reliable data they can use with confidence.
As explained in the support article Finalizing SLCP Report, it is very important to review the Verifier’s findings in the 30 calendar days after receiving the report. Facilities play a vital role in this process to ensure data is accurate and reflective of your situation before the report is finalized.
Mistakenly finalizing a report
If you mistakenly change your assessment status to finalized, please immediately reach out to the SLCP Helpdesk to request a status reversal.
Please note that if your assessment has already been finalized and shared with brand partners, making any changes or amendments is generally not possible. This rule protects the reliability of data that has already entered customer supply chain systems.
Exceptional circumstances for reopening reports
Reopening a finalized report requires a manual review and joint approval several organizations (SLCP & Active Accredited host) involved. This administrative process is time-consuming and rarely granted.
Such requests are only evaluated under exceptional circumstances at the sole discretion of SLCP and the Verification Oversight Organization (VOO). An example of an exceptional case is a material error in the facility profile section that must be rectified. For full technical requirements regarding errors, please refer to Section 8 of the Quality Assurance (QA) Manual. If an exception is approved, additional coordination is required between SLCP and Active Accredited Host to ensure the report is then reopened on the platform.
In such cases, our team also reviews all facility concerns to monitor for potential Verifier Body quality issues and maintain verification protocol integrity. Based on that, additional measures can be taken towards VB in question if issues are discovered. However, this does not necessarily lead to reopening of your SLCP report.
Keeping assessment data accurate over time
SLCP verified data does not have a formal expiration date. However, to successfully reduce assessment fatigue across the industry, we operate on a yearly cycle:
- We advise facilities to complete the SLCP assessment process every 12 months to have most recent social compliance data available.
- We advise brand partners to accept an SLCP assessment that was verified within the last 12 months.
If operational or physical conditions in your facility change significantly before a full year has passed, you do not need to wait. We encourage you to start a new assessment immediately so your shared dataset continues to reflect your workplace accurately.
